Based on Kwon Bi Young's best-selling novel, The Last Princess tells the heartrending story of Princess Deokhye, the last princess of the Joseon Dynasty who was held captive in Japan and spent her whole life trying to return to her homeland. Eleven years after April Snow , Son Ye Jin teams up with director Hur Jin Ho again for the period drama. The film co-stars Baek Yoon Shik ( Inside Men ), Yoon Je Moon ( The Great Actor and Park Hae Il ( My Dictator ), as well as child star Shin Rin Ah ( Ode to My Father ) and Kim So Hyun ( Unforgettable ) as the young versions of Princess Deokhye. Ko Su, Kim Jae Wook, Ahn Nae Sang, Ra Mi Ran and Park Joo Mi also make special appearances. During the Japanese occupation, young Princess Deokhye (Kim So Hyun) is forced to study in Japan by pro-Japanese general Han Taek Soo (Yoon Je Moon) despite opposition from her father (Baek Yoon Shik). Years later, Deokhye (Son Ye Jin) reencounters her childhood sweetheart Jang Han (Park Hae Il), who is an officer in the Japanese army as well as an independence activist. He devises a secret plan to help Deokhye and her brother Crown Prince Yi Eun (Park Soo Young) to escape to Shanghai, but Taek Soo discovers the scheme.
