Shock Wave (2017) Andy Lau is called upon to save Hong Kong from a terrorist attack in the action thriller Shock Wave , for which he also served as producer. Andy Lau stars as bomb disposal expert JS Cheung, the top officer of the Hong Kong Police Force's Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau. Years ago, he was embedded in robber Blast's (Jiang Wu) criminal gang and helped to put his brother in jail. Blast, however, got away and now he's back with a vengeance to settle old scores. A series of bombing incidents in Hong Kong cause panic throughout the city. Former bomb disposal officer Poon Sing Fung (Andy Lau) is found unconscious at the crime scene and deemed a top suspect. The police suspect that he may have ties with the terrorist group Vendetta. Faced with the police's pressure and accusations, Poon goes on the run to find the truth himself. He seeks the help of his former teammate Tung (Sean Lau). Meanwhile, Poon's ex-girlfriend Pong Ling (Ni Ni), the chief inspector of the Counter Terrorism Response Unit, persuades him to approach Vendetta in order to track down the terrorist group and prove his innocence. However, the race against time to uncover the truth is as dangerous as dismantling a bomb.
